Berman, as Grand Master of Freemasons of the State of New Jersey and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Charity Foundation, at the 222nd Annual Communication of this Grand Lodge and 80th Annual Meeting of the Masonic Charity Foundation on 16 April 2009, the Brethren, their ladies and friends are cordially and fraternally invited to attend the following:

Per our disucssion in Lodge, there will be a board of trustees meeting at 6:30 on January 5th. We have several things to adress. Also, we need to re-elect officers to fill in positions and this meeting will be to educate new elected trustee members. A reminder will follow regarding this meeting after the holidays.

Congratulations to the new elected trustee members and many thanks to the out going members. Have a great holiday and see you on the 21st for installation.

Brethren, I have received many questions about our lodge dues, so I thought I would take this opportunity to explain what is going on. At Grand Lodge in April, the members in attendance voted to raise the per capita for every member to help close a large deficit in the Masonic Homes Budget. They also voted to raise the amount given to the DeMolay and the Rainbow Girls each year.

That being said, we were required to raise our Lodge dues to cover the per capita we need to pay Grand Lodge each year for our members. The By-Law change made it easier to change the dues charged by the Lodge to cover each years per capita charges from Grand Lodge. This year out of your $40.00 Dues, the Lodge gets to keep $5.00 and the rest is sent to Grand Lodge.

I have also received some questions about Life Time Dues. If you have purchased Life Dues in Amwell Lodge or in some cases Hopewell Lodge, the By-Law change will not effect you or your Life Dues. You should have already received your 2008 Dues card.

Among the 1,000,000 web-tools available out there, the calendar on the right sidebar may be particularly useful to share information about specific events of interest for the Craft even before they are announced in open lodge. Any of us may log an event by logging into the website’s admin section and writing a post. In the Write Post page, scroll down and you will see a new event section. It is pretty straightforward.
