It has been a very exciting year for me, being master once again was a pleasure and I would like to thank the brethren for their support. This year we brought in some new Masons and right now we are working on two more. This is great!
We have our annual communication and election of officers on the 10th of December, also the open installation of Bro. Jay Ross will be held on December 21st at 6:00 P.M., with a dinner before the installation. R.W. James Ross will be performing the installation. I hope to see a large crowd as this is huge event at Amwell Lodge, as this marks a the first of list of new masters for years to come, starting with Bro. Jay Ross.
Please don’t forget the Christmas party on the 13th at 2:00 pm Santa will have gifts for the children.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a very happy New Year.
God Bless

Douglas MacArthur lived his entire life, from cradle to grave in the United States Army. He was born on January 26, 1880, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He spent his early years in remote sections of New Mexico, where his father, Arthur MacArthur, Jr., commanded an infantry company charged with protecting settlers and railroad workers from the Indian “menace.” As a teenager, Arthur had served with distinction in the Union Army, eventually earning the Congressional Medal of Honor for leading a courageous assault up Missionary Ridge in Tennessee. However, he soon discovered that life in the post Civil War U.S. Army held little of the glamour he knew during the war. Read the rest of this entry »

Dear brethren,
I’m very happy with the way the lodge is moving forward, and that all of the officers are doing such great work. I hope more members come out to see the fine work in this lodge.
On Monday, the 9th of June, we will present the master mason degree. It should be a great night.
On wed the 11th we will have our last meeting for the year and I hope every one has a nice summer, I can’t stress enough that all members should come to the third summer picnic. It’s free for all members and their families. It’s a great time to meet the families of our members.
Amwell lodge is about to have a new kitchen in the fellowship room this will give us a chance to spend more time together also don’t forget this room is opened to all members for birthday parties and different events.
God bless,
W.M.

Brethren, I have received many questions about our lodge dues, so I thought I would take this opportunity to explain what is going on. At Grand Lodge in April, the members in attendance voted to raise the per capita for every member to help close a large deficit in the Masonic Homes Budget. They also voted to raise the amount given to the DeMolay and the Rainbow Girls each year.
That being said, we were required to raise our Lodge dues to cover the per capita we need to pay Grand Lodge each year for our members. The By-Law change made it easier to change the dues charged by the Lodge to cover each years per capita charges from Grand Lodge. This year out of your $40.00 Dues, the Lodge gets to keep $5.00 and the rest is sent to Grand Lodge.
I have also received some questions about Life Time Dues. If you have purchased Life Dues in Amwell Lodge or in some cases Hopewell Lodge, the By-Law change will not effect you or your Life Dues. You should have already received your 2008 Dues card.
I hope this helps to answer some of your questions, if not please do not hesitate to call me with any questions.
Masonic yours,
Your Treasurer
