Message from the East

February 5th, 2008

I think we had a very nice first meeting in January; February will be a little different then printed in the January trestle board as our New E. A. Brother will be in Florida on the 13th so the officers decided to have the Fellow Craft degree in March. The date for this is March 12th that is the regular meeting night. However we will still have an emergent meeting on Monday February 11th to have the EA exam followed by the normal rehearsal. Anyone coming to the emergent should dress casual. The dinner before the exam is chicken soup and cold cuts. On the 13th we will have a business meeting.

There is a lot going on with Masonry in the district and also state wide so I wanted to let you know of some of this. First the reception for R. W. Brother Jack Smith the grand Chaplin for the district is on March 5, 2008 at the valley of Central Jersey cost $35.00. Jack is a very good friend of Amwell, so I hope we will have a good turn out.

Next the feast of the Pascal lamb is also at the Valley of Central Jersey on the 19th of March, you will have a great time, everyone wanting to go contact me.

On April 13th there will be a concert to benefit the Children’s Learning Centers, I hope some of us will attend the cost is $20.00.

The 15th District has selected the teacher of the year from Amwell Lodge report. She is a teacher at Lambertville elementary, a vote of thanks to S. W. Jay Ross for a job well done.

Finally the grand lodge has decided to shorten all examinations, so if this was holding back anyone you know now is the time.

Winter will be over before you know.

God Bless

Alan Horton
