Brethren, I have received many questions about our lodge dues, so I thought I would take this opportunity to explain what is going on. At Grand Lodge in April, the members in attendance voted to raise the per capita for every member to help close a large deficit in the Masonic Homes Budget. They also voted to raise the amount given to the DeMolay and the Rainbow Girls each year.

That being said, we were required to raise our Lodge dues to cover the per capita we need to pay Grand Lodge each year for our members. The By-Law change made it easier to change the dues charged by the Lodge to cover each years per capita charges from Grand Lodge. This year out of your $40.00 Dues, the Lodge gets to keep $5.00 and the rest is sent to Grand Lodge.

I have also received some questions about Life Time Dues. If you have purchased Life Dues in Amwell Lodge or in some cases Hopewell Lodge, the By-Law change will not effect you or your Life Dues. You should have already received your 2008 Dues card.
